Our Story

From Instagram To Forever

A story rooted in Mankon, shaped across Wolverhampton and London, and carried by faith, family, and a shared love for home.

It all began with a single moment on Instagram. Carlton was scrolling through his feed when a photo of Mambo-Kien caught his eye. Her striking, beautiful eyes instantly stopped him in his tracks. He decided to send her a message, and just like that, the conversation started flowing.

After a few great weeks of talking, life got busy and things quieted down for a couple of months. But Carlton never quite forgot about her. One afternoon, she popped back into his head, so he took a chance and reached out again.

That single message changed everything. As they talked, they quickly realized they shared something far deeper than just good conversation. Both of them hailed from the very same town, Mankon in Bamenda, Cameroon. Carlton had attended Sacred Heart College Mankon, the exact school Mambo-Kien's brother, Anye Jude, attended, while Mambo-Kien went to PSS Bafut.

Being thousands of miles away from home in the UK, finding someone who understood the exact rhythm of life back home felt like pure fate. They spent hours swapping boarding school stories, laughing over shared memories, reminiscing about the comfort of home cooked Cameroonian meals, and bonding over their identical roots.

The spark grew into something undeniable. Living in Wolverhampton at the time, Carlton booked a ticket straight down to London just to take Mambo-Kien on their official first date. Distance stood no chance.

After dating and growing closer every day, Carlton got down on one knee in July 2025 and asked Mambo-Kien to spend forever with him. She said yes, and now we cannot wait to honor our culture, our heritage, and our love with all of you.
